Gaining a better understanding of your dental needs and how they correlate to your overall health is an important part of our treatment planning at Gorelik Holistic Dentistry. We use a 3D cone beam scanning in Charlotte, North Carolina, to more accurately gage your dental needs.
What is 3D cone beam scanning?
3D cone beam scanning, also known as a CBCT scanner is a diagnostic tool which takes three dimensional digital X-rays of your teeth, mouth, jaw and face. This 3D imaging allows Dr. Julia Gorelik to view your mouth as a whole and can be used to create digital models of your teeth for restorative treatments.
What are the benefits of 3D cone beam scanning?
Modern cone beam scanning is simple and safe. Because it uses digital X-rays to create computerized images of your mouth, radiation exposure is minimal. The technology records images in 360 degrees, allowing for a full understanding of your dental and maxillofacial structure.
What To Expect
Taking a 3D scan can be completed in less than five minutes. Patients are asked to rest their chin on the device’s stand while its scanning equipment circles the head and takes the appropriate images. Once completed, we will have a comprehensive view of your smile and oral composition.
