At Gorelik Dentistry, we are proud to offer aesthetic and comfortable-fitting dentures to complement your healthy smile. Our dentures are constructed to look pleasing, so our skilled dentist, Dr. Julia Gorelik, takes into consideration your skin, eye, and hair color so they will enhance your facial appearance.
When you come in for a personalized consultation, we will review your needs and cosmetic desires to determine which type of denture appliance best suits your needs. If you currently wear dentures but are not happy with their look or fit, we are also happy to help. Dr. Gorelik can replace your dentures entirely, or simply reline them for a better fit, comfort, and look.
Once you have restored your smile with the help of dentures, you will want to take good care of them to maintain their form and function. Let’s take a look at how you should care for your denture appliance!
— Take your dentures out and rinse them thoroughly after you eat. Washing away food particles and oral debris is vital for proper fit and hygiene. Treat your dentures carefully–you don’t want to drop them. You can protect them by putting down a towel to catch them in case they slip, or fill the sink with some water just in case.
— Be gentle while cleaning your dentures so as not to damage the material or bend the clasps.
— Be sure to clean your mouth next. You can use a moistened swatch of gauze or a soft-bristled tooth brush. Wipe down your palate, cheeks, and tongue thoroughly to remove oral residue.
— Once a day you will want to brush your dentures. You also want to soak your appliance with a non-abrasive denture cleaner and use warm water, never hot.
— Soak your dentures overnight, as your dentures need to stay moist to hold their shape. You can use water or a mild-solution for your dentures. When placing them back into your mouth, rinse thoroughly to clear away any remaining solution.
— To maintain proper fit and comfort, schedule dental checkups with Dr. Gorelik for denture cleanings and oral exams to make sure your mouth is healthy.
