Here’s Looking at Your Smile!

Posted .

By now you have seen that at Gorelik Dentistry, we strive to offer the best holistic approach to dentistry for our patients in Charlotte, North Carolina. One of the ways we do that is by making sure our procedures and treatments are kind to your entire body, including your smile. For this reason, we are pleased to offer digital X-rays to protect your smile health.

To safeguard your smile, digital x-rays use modern technology allowing them to “see” intricate images of your teeth and jawbone and soft tissue to find anomalies which are not visible otherwise. This means Dr. Gorelik can spot cracks in dental fillings, bone loss, and decay happening between your teeth. And while the traditional method of taking x-rays is considered to be safe, it still exposes you to more radiation than the digital variety.

Our practice uses the NOMAD Pro™ – Handheld X-ray System for Dental Applications. This award-winning dental X-ray system is one of the most advanced systems available. This portable system is perfect to use with patients who have special needs, and it allows us to be in the room with you. You can be comfortable while having your X-rays done, and the time to take pictures is shorter than conventional X-rays. Not only does it lower exposure to radiation, but it actually is less than one percent of the allowable occupational dose.

Did You Know?

  • With digital x-rays, you are experiencing 80% less radiation than your traditional versions.
  • Digital x-rays allow us to take pictures of your mouth through a sensor in your mouth that is connected to a thin wire to the computer, while traditional x-rays involve cumbersome lead bibs and papers in the mouth with cutting edges.
  • Digital x-rays are more environmentally friendly than using chemicals and film paper in traditional x-rays.
  • Digital x-rays provide insight in seconds and can be resized without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • Your digital x-rays can be forwarded electronically to another specialist or to support insurance claims without having to deal with cumbersome film paper.

As you can see, digital x-rays are easy to use while efficiently producing quick results. Dr. Julia Gorelik and our team at Gorelik Dentistry are always open to using cutting-edge technology to help our patients achieve healthy smiles.
